A Novel Rectenna With Class-F Harmonic Structure for Wireless Power Transfer

The concept of wireless power transfer for powering a low-power electronic circuit is demonstrated in this brief using novel rectifying-antenna (rectenna). proposed rectenna consisted by wide-band antenna and modified rectifier. bandwidth has been optimized to cover both the f1 = 868 MHz f2 915 UHF-RFID bands. A dual-band Class-F harmonic structure employed maximize PCE at low levels radio frequency (RF) input (-30 dBm < PIN 10 dBm) compared conventional designs. class-F load compensates capacitive reactance rectifier diodes fundamental frequencies (f1 f2) controls output harmonics 2f1, 2f2, 3f1 3f2. depicts measured maximum 71% (at f1) 64% an RF 0 with optimum resistance (RL) 7 kΩ. To demonstrate proof validate performance, DC-DC boost converter, supercapacitor (COUT 370 μF), connected presented rectenna. According results, demonstrates LED different distances various f2). can be used battery-less sensing systems.
